Makeup trends are constantly changing. Remember when it was all about the thin brows – or when contouring wasn’t a thing? I take a lot of my makeup inspiration from celebrity artists like Patrick Ta and Hung Vanngo and one trend I’m noticing on their instagram pages is the monochromatic makeup look – and I am OBSESSED!
Monochromatic makeup is when you use the same or similar toned colors throughout your entire makeup look, from your eyes, to your lips, to your cheeks. The trend is super versatile You can go bold with colors like pink and coral or keep it more soft with golds and nudes.
TIPS FOR PULLING OFF A MONOCHROMATIC LOOK
Use your products for multiple purposes: To tie everything together use the same product, such as a cream blush as a lip tint, your powder blush in your crease as a transition shade.
Play with different textures: Using the same or similar colors in matte, frost, or glitter textures will amp up your look and give it the dimension it needs for that wow factor.
Don’t be afraid to go bold: This look isn’t only for nudes and browns. Use a red lip and pair it with some soft coppery-red eyeshadow, or a coral lip with some coral eye shadow now that spring and summer are coming. Be confident in your skills and your skin to pull off something bold. Colorful looks are IN right now and this is a good way to bring everything together!
