I was recently packing for a weekend trip and knew I wouldn’t be wearing much makeup where I was going. I wanted to pack light, but I tend to go overboard with my makeup bag. This time I decided to give myself a challenge and only pack the few products I felt were a MUST. These are the 10 makeup products I can’t live without.
1. Mario Badescue Rose Water Facial Spray
This stuff. I have repurchased this product so many times I can’t count. It has so many different uses from priming, setting, refreshing your makeup, using it to spray your brush for an extra pop for shimmery eyeshadows, and much much more. I even use this at night as extra hydration after my skin care routine. And not to mention – rose water is SO good for your skin.
2. Elcie Cosmetics Glow Enhancer
This product is one of my all time favorites. I use it underneath my makeup, or when I’m not wearing makeup at all. It’s a dry face oil so it never looks too greasy on the skin, and it has jojoba and rose hip oil in the formula that help mimic your skin’s natural oils so you won’t get oily throughout the day. It also has little shimmers in it that make you look like you’re glowing from the inside out.
3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer
I fill in my brows no matter how much makeup I’m wearing or where I’m going. This brow pencil is a powder in pencil form. It gives you so much precision while looking like powdered in brows, which tend to look more natural. I rotate between the shades medium brown or ebony depending on how I’m doing my makeup.
4. Concealer
I know, I know, I’m supposed to pick a specific product but I use different concealers for different parts of my makeup routine and I’m too much of a product junkie to pick just one. I kind of cheated, but click here to read a review on one of my top favorites.
5. Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder
The name speaks for itself. The powder is super thin, smooth, and almost undetectable on the skin. I use shade one for brightening and setting under my eyes, bridge of my nose, middle of my forehead, and my chin.
6. Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate
This comes in two shades or ‘intensity’s’. I use intensity one. The compact comes with a highlighter shade and a contour shade. The highlighter looks white but gives you a glow from within, glossy kind of highlight without disturbing the makeup underneath. The contour is the most easily blend-able cream contour I’ve ever used. It can be used as a natural bronzing of the face on its own or as a dramatic contour layered with a powdered bronzer over top. I could go on and on about this product, it’s just so versatile.
My absolute favorite products have skincare infused into their makeup. These dew drops have coconut infused in them and give you that glow from within youthful radiance while also hydrating your skin. I apply these all on the highest points of my face before I apply my foundation or sometimes even when I’m not wearing makeup for a natural looking glow. They are also amazing to mix with foundation when you want a dewy look – hence the name.
8. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Mascara is another product that I wear no matter what. If I’m not wearing makeup you can guarantee I still have some mascara on my lashes. This mascara is one of my favorites. It keeps my lashes long, voluminous, and curled throughout the entire day. Mascara is possibly one of the most important makeup products for me and this one’s the bomb.
Seriously what did we do before these existed? I remember those silly little foam sponges that absorbed all the product before you could even apply it to your face. Beauty blender changed the game with this. My beauty blender plays a roll in almost every step of my makeup routine. Many other companies have tried to create a beauty sponge but not one has compared to the original BB.
10. Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ‘Pillowtalk’
One of my very sweet clients gave me this as a gift and since then it has been my go-to lip product. Most days I apply this alone and pop a little bit of gloss or chapstick on top and that’s the only product in my lips. Its like a ‘your lips but better’ color with a hint of pink in it.
So I obviously packed more than 10 things, I just couldn’t help it. BUT if I had to, these would be the top 10 I would choose. They are the perfect essentials to any makeup look, while looking fresh, glowing, and healthy. What are some items you can’t live without?
